Rossa (oua_58986656_image)
The northernmost municipality of the Calanca, with the hamlets of Santa Domenica and Augio. Walking through streets and views is like immersing yourself in an open-air work of art.

Beschreibung

There are numerous places of worship and buildings with Welsh influence in the area. Sacred images on the facades of houses and stables, chapels and oratories are scattered almost everywhere and offer a wide range of cultural opportunities for leisure activities. The church of S. Bernardo XVII century has columns made of artificial marble (made of stucco), which are excellently finished and can be confused with the originals.

The paths towards the Alps and to the passes that connect the Calanca to the neighboring valleys mark the countless destinations that can be reached.  Ideal for hiking, skiing, sport fishing, immersion in nature and pristine air, 30 minutes from Bellinzona.

Augio (hamlet)

It is characterized by the beautiful waterfall (250 m), typical houses and a hotel that recall the fate of immigrants to France, Holland and Germany.

Santa Domenica (hamlet)

It houses the sacred building of the same name from the Baroque period, one of the most important in Graubünden, which dates back to 1414.

In addition, the Salan Chapel is also a small architectural jewel from the seventeenth century.
