Challenging beautiful hike from the Safiental over the Safierberg, a former muleteer pass, to Splügen in the Rhine Forest.
Details
Beschreibung
The hike starts leisurely along the Rabiusa to Z'hinderst in the Safiental. An impressive waterfall plunges down the rock face there. Soon the path climbs and zigzags up to the Safierberg at an altitude of 2,482 metres. When you arrive at the pass, the view of the mountains of the Rhine Forest opens up. If you look back into the Safien Valley, you will notice the extensive Alps, which extend over large parts of the Safien Valley. We are located in the area of the Beverin Nature Park, where the ibex is at home. It is worth keeping your eyes in the steep rock faces or in the air. With a bit of luck, you can spot a proud ibex or see the eagle gliding through the air.
Now the path leads, sometimes more - sometimes less steep, down to the Stutzalp and on over alpine meadows to the Gadastatt. Before you reach the pass village of Splügen, the descent becomes steep again.
Geheimtipp
Use the hiking bus from Splügen to the Stutzalp and save a few metres in altitude:
