Ausrüstung

Normal snow sports equipment incl. snowshoes and possibly poles.

Snowshoes can be rented at Intersport am Flumserberg.

Wegbeschreibung

The snowshoe hike starts at the Alprestaurant Panüöl. Panüöl can be reached on foot via the Prodalp-Panüöl snowshoe trail or by gondola and chairlift from Flumserberg Tannenboden via Maschgenkamm. On the cozy sun terrace there is a wonderful view of the Spitzmeilen. The round trip leads over the Plattis plateau. Where cows graze on the alpine meadows in summer, you can enjoy the peace and idyll of the winter landscape. After the first few meters, the trail branches off to the left and leads along the edge of the mountain. On this section, the Spitzmeilen area shows its most impressive side. As a steep rock tooth, the summit of the Spitzmeilen protrudes from the snow slopes. Flums' local mountain is located on the cantonal border of St. Gallen and Glarus and is a popular tour destination in summer and winter. After about 1.2 km you cross the Tannenboden-Fursch trail and follow the trail past snowy fir trees. Slightly uphill, the route runs in an arc around the small moor area. With a little luck, you can discover traces of wild animals in the snow. On the last passage you cross the trail again and return to the alp restaurant. Ambitious snowshoe hikers can combine the tour with the Panüöl-Prodalp snowshoe trail. The descent is rewarded with plenty of afternoon sun and a spectacular view of Sarganserland thanks to the southern exposure.
