For young and old explorers, the chives island awaits in front of Mols in Lake Walen. The intense smell of chives tells you, even without entering it, where the island got its name from.
It is small and is even flooded from time to time when the water is at its peak. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit. To get there, you need a boat or a kayak. There are no moorings on the island, so swimming is the order of the day. But only when there is no breeding season, because on the chives island many waterfowl live in the thicket, which must not be disturbed.
The special feature: The island has a mailbox with a kind of message in a bottle. You have to find out for yourself what this is all about.
