Beschreibung

In the morning, the path first leads down over blocky terrain. From 2300 m onwards, the green vegetation slowly returns, while the panorama with the Tödi is impressive. A small plateau is crossed, then it goes steeply down to 1850 m. There you cross the river "Aua da Cavrein". A short climb leads to Alp Russein, where fresh alpine cheese can be bought and, if kindly requested, the water is filled up for the last part.

This is followed by the long ascent to Fuorcla da Punteglias. At first, the path still leads along the stream, then turns right and leads steeply up a grassy flank (T4). A small lake for a short refreshment before an alluvial plain reveals the view of the last climb. The last part requires full concentration and surefootedness (T4). At the top, the view opens up to Bifertenstock and Brigelser Hörner. The last short descent to Camona da Punteglias also requires attention again.

Hint: This stage is long and demanding. Surefootedness is absolutely necessary. Carry enough water with you, as there are hardly any refilling options on the way. There is no cell phone reception between the Camona da Cavardiras and the Camona da Punteglias.

Geheimtipp

For the tour, early reservation of the huts is necessary, as places are limited.

Sicherheitshinweis

In uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar comes up during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Ausrüstung

For the long-distance hike, it is recommended: hiking backpack with rain cover, good hiking boots or trekking shoes with a firm profile, weather-appropriate clothing in the multi-layer principle including rain and sun protection, a change of clothes, provisions and drinking water, telescopic poles, a first aid kit, pocket knife, headlamp, maps, hut sleeping bag and personal hygiene articles.
