The expanse, the light and the view across Lake Sils towards Maloja are inspiring right from the start of the walk. We cross the large plain on good paths to the beginning of the peninsula, from where a varied, easily accessible hiking trail winds its way across the wooded peninsula. The spectacle of the clouds and the sun, the sound of the waves and the scent of the mountain forest on the Chastè pen insula never cease to fascinate. You really can't get enough of it. Along the way, cozy benches invite you to rest, enjoy and philosophize. After a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear Lake Sils, you'll feel like a new person again. At the Nietzsche memorial stone, almost at the end of the peninsula, the view towards Plaun da Lej and Maloja is particularly beautiful. No wonder Nietzsche was also inspired by this unique landscape. The stone foundation remains on the rock on the northern shore bear witness to the castle that gave the peninsula its name. The short detour to this historic site is definitely worthwhile. Fascinated by your stay on the famous peninsula, you stroll back across the large plain towards the village of Sils, flanked by fishing boats anchored in the water on one side and rare plants on the other.
