A ski route from Hinterrhein in the Rheinwald to Chilchalphorn offers a fascinating view of the Rhine source area and the Rheinwald with a wonderful subsequent descent.

Beschreibung
The Rheinwald is a true paradise for ski tourers. The route to Chilchalphorn from the Walser village Hinterrhein attracts with magnificent views and beautiful descents. Under good conditions, this summit is climbed relatively often. It is best to park at the limited parking spaces "Räppia" by the stream. From there follow the trail up and cross the stream at the bridge. You can then ascend on the winter hiking trail to Nügädemli and to the Chilchalp alpine huts. Then west of Chilchalp towards Trösbach to about point 2446 where you can follow Trösbach to about point 2739. Southern ascent on the east ridge to about point 2950 (ski depot). Finally, you can climb along the ridge to the summit. The descent follows the ascent route. In the Rheinwald you will find various overnight accomodations.
