Beschreibung

The path begins in the village of Isola, idyllically located on a peninsula in Lake Sils. Following the winter hiking trail, it leads through Isola and further northeast. After about 800m the snowshoe trail branches off to the right from the hiking trail and gently ascends until it merges into the summer path to Sils. Following this, it continues gently after a last descent until reaching the plains of Sils.

The snowshoe hike can be well combined with the Maloja - Brusciabräga circular route. This one is followed on the snowshoe route from Maloja to the plains of Brusciabräga, where you switch to the winter hiking trail to Isola.

Please note: From 27 October 2025 to 31 March 2026, the route between Sils and Isola will be diverted due to construction work. Please follow the signs on site.

Geheimtipp

For warming up and enjoying a fine cake, a visit to the Hotel-Restaurant Lagrev in Isola is recommended.

The path can be well traveled in both directions. From Sils to Maloja there are hourly postbus connections to return to the starting point.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

In winter, Isola can be reached on foot from the Plaun da Lej postbus stop across the lake (if it is frozen) - or via the winter hiking trail from Maloja (Maloja Posta postbus stop).
