Speichersee Valos

Such a lake is the Valos reservoir. It holds 110,000 cubic meters of water. That's over eleven million liters. If you can't imagine anything about it: With this amount of water you could fill more than 730,000 bathtubs of 150 liters each. However, the water of the Valos reservoir is used very carefully: For example, the snow groomers in the Arosa Lenzerheide snow sports area are equipped with GPS systems that can measure the current snow depth. On the basis of such information, the slopes can be snowed in a targeted and resource-saving manner at the same time. In summer, the Valos Reservoir serves as a popular place for families to stay. You are not allowed to swim in the lake, but in the immediate vicinity there is a barbecue area and the Globi hiking trail.
