Beschreibung

The first 16 km of the route follow those of the "Strada Alta" circuit. Indeed, from the San Remo Sports Center you ascend towards Pass di Passit, then descend towards Confin Basso before reaching the summit of Passo del San Bernardino. From here you continue in the direction of Pian Lumbrif (1853 m) passing by the characteristic mountain ponds, the "Laghitt d’Ardei", before climbing up towards Cassina de Vignun. The hut is used in the summer months by shepherds who take care of the livestock. The trail is flowing and without particular technical difficulties. Then you continue towards Alpe Pian Doss following the trail that winds along Valle del Silenzio. Before the final climb leading to the swampy forest area near Fornas, you skirt Lago Doss, which in summer is a coveted destination for those wishing to relax and dive into the bathing lake’s waters. The last kilometers of the route run along the shores of Lago d’Isola passing by Alpe Portela where in summer various dairy products can be purchased.

Geheimtipp

If you want to shorten the route, the climb to Cassina de Vignun can easily be skipped. Just continue straight at Pian Lumbrif for a few hundred meters and you will return to the planned route.
