Surlej-Hahnensee-Muottas da Schlarigna-Pontresina

At the Surlej Parkplatz bus stop, the road leads to the houses at the edge of the forest. The hiking path up to the Hahnensee also starts there. First on a wide natural road and then in a steep zigzag with breathtaking views of Silvaplaner and Silsersee up to the idyllic moor lake. The hiking path continues up and down, more or less along the forest boundary, to Muottas da Schlarigna. Always in view is the panorama over the Engadin down to S-chanf. You pass very old Swiss stone pines, and if you descend a short way at the turnoff to Alp da Staz, you will reach the oldest Swiss stone pine in the Engadin. Before you descend at the second turnoff to Pontresina, the ascent to the Muottas da Schlarigna viewpoint is worth it. The descent to Pontresina leads through a beautiful Swiss stone pine forest.
