The hike to the Biferten hut at the foot of the Muot da Rubi (Kistenstoeckli) is a journey through changing landscapes - steep ascents and quiet resting sections alternate and create a natural rhythm.
Once at the top, a panorama opens that makes you forget all efforts: The view stretches over Brigels and the mountain ridges of Obersaxen. Later, a deep view follows at Rubi Sura into the wild romantic Val Frisal. Finally, you reach the spectacularly situated Biferten hut – a place of peace and wonder. With a bit of luck you can see the ibex colony here in its natural environment.
The ascent begins either comfortably with the four-seater chairlift from Brigels to Crest Falla and then on foot via Alp Quader – or traditionally on foot from the old village part of Brigels (Cuort), along the alpine path towards Alp Quader.

Sicherheitshinweis
Please observe the timetable of the Brigels - Crest Falla chairlift.
Do not start the route in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar develops during the hike, you should turn back in time.
Ausrüstung
Good hiking boots with a good tread, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket), possibly change of clothes, first aid kit, drink, food, possibly hiking poles.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
From Chur/Ilanz or Disentis to the Tavanasa-Breil/Brigels train stop. Continue by post bus to Breil-vitg, posta. For further information on timetables see the SBB website
Anreise Information
From Ilanz or Disentis take main road 19 to Tavanasa-Breil/Brigels. Then take the Via Principala and Casut to the parking lot of the mountain railways.
