In the footsteps of the Swiss Epic - Route 3 (E-MTB suitable)

The fifth and final stage of the Swiss Epic 2020 leads through the singletrail paradise Davos Klosters and is a route offering high-quality trails with 61 kilometers and 2,550 meters of elevation. At the start of the route, you face an 8 km climb with 800 meters of elevation, which takes you to the highest point of the day at 2,321 m above sea level. The initial effort is followed by the ultimate mountain biking experience: the Panorama Trail – true to its name, it boasts unique views. After the unmistakable high alpine trail, a fast forest road takes you past the Mungga Hütte to Schwarzseealp. From there, an impressive trail leads toward Gotschnaboden, from where you reach Wolfgang Pass via a rooty trail through a romantic forest. This is followed by a classic cross-country section with many ups and downs through the forests above Davos, passing the Erb and Aussererb alpine pastures. A high-altitude trail takes you to the next fast trail section over roots and stones down to Frauenkirch, which also includes some technical sections and drops. At Mühle Glaris, you change valley sides and after a short climb below the Rinerhornbahn, you turn onto a fun trail over Junkerboden towards Mühle Sertig. Now it’s time to pedal hard for the last time: the 5 km climb with 400 meters of elevation is tough and leads from Clavadel over the Clavadeleralp up to Ischalp. Don’t worry, the effort is worth it: a fast and flowing trail brings you down from Ischalp to Davos, where you can end the day on a beautiful sunny terrace.

A route that should be on every mountain bike lover’s to-do list and offers a great insight into what amateurs and world-class mountain bikers achieve during the five-day mountain bike stage race Swiss Epic in Graubünden.
