Beschreibung
In the village of Jenins, famous for its wine, situated not far from Chur, there is something that is not found anywhere else in the world: Tolkien's Middle earth - a museum devoted to the world of English fantasy author J. R. R. Tolkien (1892 - 1973). Tolkien became known mainly through the books 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings', which were also made into blockbuster movies.
The Greisinger Museum is a non-profit foundation. Since 2013, it has hosted the largest and most important collection on the subject of 'Middle-earth' worldwide. It houses a wealth of art and literature as well as all sorts of collectables. Here you can be transported directly into the mysterious world of Middle-earth, elves and orcs included. For all fantasy and Tolkien fans an absolute must! You will enter the museum through the circular door of a Hobbit hole, and from there you will experience many places in the mysterious world of Middle-earth.
Visiting the museum
The museum has no opening hours and can only be visited during a guided tour conducted in German, English, Italian or French. Those interested (individual guests as well as groups) can purchase tickets for a visit in advance on the website www.greisinger.museum, available in six languages.
