Trinkflasche füllen im Bergdorf S-charl
On the last stage of the Trans Grischun it gets wild, rough and technical. The highlight is the route through Val S-charl and up to the Pass da Costainas, the transition from the Lower Engadine to Val Müstair.

Beschreibung

After starting in Scuol, follow mountain bike route No. 1. The climb to the mountain village of S-charl begins in the forest with some steep ramps. Here the ground is still paved and the altitude quickly melts away. Shortly after, the forest opens up near Sasstaglia, asphalt is replaced by gravel, and the view opens into the valley. To the right below in the rocky gorge flows the Clemgia River. The nature becomes wilder. Not surprising, since you are near the Swiss National Park. Nestled among high mountain peaks, the route steadily climbs with short steep ramps to S-charl at 1808 m a.s.l. Here we recommend a short break: refill your water bottle and recharge with some energy at the restaurant if needed. Then begins the final ascent to the roof of the Trans Grischun – to Pass da Costainas at 2250 m a.s.l. Shortly after S-charl, on the left side of the valley, you see the God da Tamangur. It is the highest contiguous larch forest in Europe. Nature and a fine gravel bike experience.
