Beschreibung

The starting point of the route is the Davos Frauenkirch train station, reachable from Davos Platz in a few minutes. The path passes the Landhuus guesthouse and turns right after a few meters towards Lengmatta. On Lengmattastrasse, it gently ascends past beautiful, widely spaced Walser houses. When the Walser people, coming from the distant Valais, settled the Landwasser Valley, they brought their own language and a unique architectural style. The farmhouses built in traditional log construction can be encountered repeatedly on the Lengmatta route. Always follow the path after Lengmatta until a crossroads, where the path continues slightly turning right onto Chummastrasse. Over the rushing Chummerbach and through a small forest it goes to the small settlement of Hitzenboden, with a dreamlike view over the Landwasser Valley. A few hundred meters downhill, another crossroads follows, where the path leads left down towards Davos Glaris.

Geheimtipp

The restaurant Schrämli's Lengmatta invites you to linger on the sunny terrace.
