Beschreibung

On the normal road you leave St. Antönien heading northeast and turn right at Litzirüti into the Gafiatal. First you follow the Gafier stream for a short time and then turn into the Alpeltitäli, where the ascent to the St. Antönier Joch begins. At the pass height, you stand at the border to Austria and enjoy a view over the sea of peaks in the Montafon. A short stretch now follows the so-called smuggler’s path along the border and then turns towards Tälli. It continues to the blue shimmering Gafiersee. From Talegg, it goes down to Sunnistafel where you can stop and rest at the Edelweiss.

Tip: If you have not had enough, walk past the lake back up to the ridge and follow it to the Gafierjoch. From there, the mountain trail leads over the Unghürtschuggen to Sunnistafel.

Geheimtipp

Recharge your energy with delicious cake at the Berghaus Edelweiss and then race back to St. Antönien on the Trotti (scooter). Alternatively, from here the Bus alpin also departs.

Ausrüstung

Good hiking shoes and mountain hiking clothing adapted to the season. In addition to snacks for the route, a current hiking map, sun, rain, and warmth protection belong in the rucksack.
