Val da Cam - Trailtrophy Route

From Casaccia it first goes steeply then continuously uphill towards Val Maroz. The path passes romantic Maiensäss settlements and alpine farms. After almost five kilometers, the path branches left towards Val da Cam and up to the plateau to the lovely small mountain lake Lägh da Cam at 2400 m above sea level, from where it goes down again to Plan Lo with a beautiful panoramic view of the Bondasca valley. The entire route is scarcely exposed, but very steep at the beginning and especially at the end on the descent to Soglio.

Those who want to gain more altitude can also do the route in reverse. The route can be shortened via Furtschellas/Nambrun or Plan Lo towards Vicosoprano.

The first part of the path follows a small forest trail to Maroz Dora. Then you follow the wide track across the meadows to the alpine hut Maroz Dent. Here you cross the Maira stream, ascend in wide switchbacks the protruding slope and reach the clearly visible Satten, marked with several cairns. After this edge, the gentle Val da Cam opens up, while in the background the majestic mountains of the Val Bondasca appear. You head towards the middle of the lovely valley basin in the direction of the pass. The highest point is at 2463 m, beyond which the descent begins. From a magnificent panoramic spot, you overlook the entire Bergell and a large part of the route, which ends on the extensive mountain meadows of Tombal. The path is always well integrated into the slopes descending from Piz Duan. Then follows a long straight section past the huts of Castel, Planac, and Mungat and finally you reach the ruined huts of Cadrin. On the splendid mule track, you descend to Plän Vest and then again through the forest to Tombal. A final descent leads to Soglio.
