The third stage of the Via Grischuna, which connects the two famous Swiss mountain destinations Davos Klosters and St. Moritz, starts in Bergün and leads over the Albulapass past the emerald-colored Lai da Palpuegna and via the Fuorcla Crap Alv to Spinas.

Beschreibung

On the 3rd stage we leave the Albula valley and enter the Engadin region. From Bergün, you follow the Alvra river, walking on gentle forest paths without major elevation changes and beneath the arches of the Albula railway. A few kilometers are quickly covered up to the popular turquoise-colored Lai da Palpuegna.

The main road is crossed twice before branching off up to the Fuorcla Crap Alv. Through the Albula tunnel, you reach another turquoise-colored lake, the Lais digl Crap Alv, a picturesque spot for a picnic. From there the path climbs a short distance further up to the Fuorcla Crap Alv. From the Fuorcla you descend steeply into the Val Bever. Spinas lies just a few kilometers downstream along the Beverin and, due to easy access by train, is a hotspot for mountain bikers and day hikers.

Source of the Albula

At Crap Alv the Albula rises and forms a small waterfall. Along the hiking trail there are always small clear lakes to discover. If you follow the hiking trail to the Crap Alv Laiets, you will come across more small lakes.
