Beschreibung

A physically demanding hike including a Vilan summit experience. We ascend via the normal route. Crossing the ridge eastwards past the impressive Steinmanndli, we reach Sadreinegg. Now we turn right and hike partly on the forest path, partly on the mountain trail shortcut towards Guora, but then turn off at signpost 66.3 towards Valcaus. Through short forest areas and open passages we reach the Maiensäss Valcau mountain hut. Thanks to numerous freight roads we have multiple different routes to choose from here to Seewis. The easiest way is to travel by kick scooter.

Geheimtipp

The Älplibahn has limited capacity with 2 cabins for 4 persons each. An early reservation at +41 (0)81 322 47 64 is therefore essential.

Maiensäss Valcaus mountain hut and restaurant: kick scooter rental for the journey to Seewis. Reservation is recommended: Tel. +41 79 526 73 37. There is another opportunity to take a break shortly before Seewis: the Hofbeizli Runggalina is a homely hut with a beautiful view over Seewis.

Good shoes, mountain hiking clothes according to the season, a map, food, watter bottle for the day in a suitable backback are recommended.

Coming from Zurich, exit the A13 motorway in Landquart towards Landquart, Davos, Vereina. Follow the N28 national road to Landquart. Follow the main road to Malans. Coming from Davos, follow the N28 national road to Landquart, then follow the main road to Malans. There are paid parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the valley station.

The Älplibahn Malans may be the smallest mountain cable car in Graubünden. But no other cable car in Switzerland covers more meters in altitude without a stopover. From the mountain restaurant at the top station at 1,802 meters above sea level, visitors enjoy a magnificent view.
