"Tamangur" – fairy-tale name of the highest stone pine forest in Europe – crowns the hiking day. Steep path over the old Pass da Costainas with a pleasant descent past Alp Astras to the idyllic little village of S-charl.

On peaceful alpine and pass paths – from Lü the path rises steadily to Alp Champatsch. The Alp buildings of Champatsch were rebuilt in 1986; the old houses from 1825 are now displayed in the Ballenberg open-air museum. Short steep climb to Pass da Costainas at 2,251 m. A long and pleasant descent follows over the Alps Astras and Praditschöl to S-charl. Variant: From Alp Astras on the right valley side through the famous stone pine forest of Tamangur.

Anreise Information
- From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or via Flüelapass to Zernez on the H27. From Zernez on the H28 into Val Müstair to Fuldera (40 minutes drive from Vereina south portal)
- From the east: via Reschenpass (Nauders) on the SS40 to Mals. From Mals on the SS41 to the Swiss border at Müstair. From Müstair on the H28 to Fuldera.
- From the south: via Bolzano and Merano on the SS40 to Mals. From Mals on the SS41 to the Swiss border at Müstair. From Müstair on the H28 to Fuldera.
Lü is located above Fuldera and can be reached in 10 minutes by a side road.
