The five musicians played together for the first time at the Pacific Festival in Sapporo, Japan, founded by Leonard Bernstein. Overcoming boundaries with music and finding unity in diversity – that is the message of the young, international Pacific Quintet, which has already won numerous prizes such as the 2nd prize and the audience prize at the ARD Music Competition. In its moderated concert in the light-flooded Atelier Bolt, the ensemble presents an attractive programme of classical music (Mozart and Reicha) and French Impressionism, such as Claude Debussy's "Petit Suite", arranged for wind quintet, and Maurice Ravel's enchanting fairy tale cycle "Ma Mère L'Oye" (Mother Goose), in which you will find a magic garden in addition to Sleeping Beauty and Little Thumb. And when Leonard Bernstein's "Candide" overture is heard at the end, the Pacific Quintet builds a bridge to its beginnings.
