Beschreibung
This is a historically secondary route, mainly used by drovers and hunters, later joined by the “spalloni”, the smugglers who extensively used it for their cross-border trades from Gravedona and Dongo to Roveredo.
The route starts in the San Fedele area, renowned for the numerous grotti where you can taste local products from the territory. The path then continues passing beside the church of Madonna del Ponte or Sant'Anna which stands at the entrance of the Traversagna valley and is preceded by two stone arch bridges crossing the river of the same name. The path then continues to climb into the mountains, until reaching the border with Italy.
During the route, it is possible to take a detour to see the Boggiano tower, dating back to the distant 1406, which rises on a rocky spur at the entrance of the Val Traversagna.
