Cottage hike Flumserberg-Weisstannen

The hut hike on the Flumserberg starts at the Tannenheim, Post bus stop. It is located right next to the Tannenheim valley station. The first highlight is the ascent with the gondola lift to Prodalp. The gondola slowly rises above Lake Walen and the Churfirsten mountains appear in all their glory.

A forest path begins at Prodalp, which turns into a narrow hiking trail after a few kilometers. It leads through forests, past flower meadows and herds of cows. You soon reach the Panüöl mountain inn and the Spitzmeilen hut. After Alp Fursch, there is a steep but short ascent and the last few kilometers to the Spitzmeilenhütte. It lies at 2,087 m above sea level. M and was built more than 110 years ago. You can marvel at the sunset above the clouds before descending 1,200 meters in altitude to Weisstannen the next day. The route leads over the Madchopf via Galans with views of the Churfirsten and Alvier ranges. From Weisstannen, the bus takes you back to Sargans railroad station.
