Details
Beschreibung
We hike near the Rhine - the babbling water continuously accompanies us. The first highlight is Disla, a picturesque little village with typical local houses and various old crafts businesses. Always on Swiss Museum Day the cheese dairy, the grain mill, the sawmill and other buildings are open. The path then leads us to Madernal where we encounter a relic from earlier times: a tank barrier. We stay on the left Rhine bank and after the Russein hydropower plant change to a hiking trail through an enchanted forest with mossy stones and old tree stumps. Part of the path leads over a newly constructed wooden footbridge, artistically installed on the unstable slope. Upon reaching the meadow in Plaun Petschen with playground, campfire site, beach volleyball court and a small bathing lake, we prepare for a longer stay. To the Sumvitg train stop we allow about 20 minutes. From here the RhB railway returns us to Disentis.
Geheimtipp
Ausrüstung
If we switch to the right Rhine side in Madernal, the entire route is also doable with a sporty stroller.
Wegbeschreibung
From Disentis train station we follow the natural road to Cavardiras until the bridge in Brulf. Here we turn left and hike to Disla. The Ustria Fravia is located next to the chapel, not directly on our hiking route. The trail junction for the planned hike is in Disla in the middle of the village, about 200 m before the Ustria. In Madernal we leave the hiking trail onto a dirt road. We keep right on this road. Before the bridge we turn left again. At the power plant the dirt road ends and a hiking trail leads behind the building into the forest. After the forest we reach the bridge over the Rhine, which we cross. The playground and barbecue area is immediately to the right after the bridge. To reach the Sumvitg train station we take the road to Sumvitg. Observe signposts at the bridge. First comes Cumpadials, then we turn left uphill to Sumvitg. Below Sumvitg is the turnoff to the right to the train stop.
