Beschreibung
The Pizol region is known for its breathtaking views across the St. Gallen Rhine Valley to Lake Constance. Nowhere else can you enjoy the view as undisturbed as on the highest peaks of the hiking area. The hike to the Gamidauerspitz is part of the Pizol summit quartet. The Garmil, Gamidauerspitz, Hochwart and Pizol stages can all be hiked independently of each other, but can also be combined as desired.
On the Gamidauerspitz, the Sarganserland and the Rhine Valley lie at our feet. In the foreground, the Garmil towers a good 2,000 m above sea level. To the left, the view sweeps towards the Churfirsten peaks and Lake Walen, and to the right, the Grisons mountains. With a bit of luck, you may spot chamois or eagles along the way.

Wegbeschreibung
From the Gaffia mountain station, follow the signpost in the direction of Baschalvasee. After a few meters there is already the first refreshment stop at the old Alp Gaffia. The trail now leads up several hairpin bends over the Chuetschingel until we reach Lake Baschalva after approx. 1h 15min. The day's destination, the Gamidauerspitz, is already in sight. From Baschalvasee, we follow the signpost in the direction of Schwarzsee. After a few more meters in altitude we reach the Baseggla point at 2280 m. From this point we follow the ridge to the right and after approx. 200 m we reach the highest point of today's tour, the Gamidauerspitz.
There are various possible combinations for the way back:
- Same way back
- Combinations with the summit quartet or the 5-lake hike
