Audio guide
With our new audio hiking guide, you learn interesting facts about geology on the Garmil high path along the way.
The audio guide is available for free via the Outdooractive app (iOS/Android) and via outdooractive.com. To display the content, the new "Audio guide" function in the three-point menu on the map (bottom right) must be activated. Those who choose a specific hike see the available audio experience points along the route. But the new audio files are also perfect for inspiration. Simply browse through the audio files in the map overview and then decide on a route. The optional GPS tracking and navigation mode allow automatic playback while moving – whether on foot, by bus, train, or on the bike.

Wegbeschreibung
The route starts at the Gaffia station, which is accessible by gondola and chairlifts of the Pizol cable cars from Wangs and via Furt. From the station, we hike in the direction of the small alp hut on the other side of the mountain stream. After a few meters, there is already a place to stop at the old Alp Gaffia. Below the small alp hut, the hiking trail starts towards Garmil. Along the babbling mountain stream, we take the first ascent to Chrutplangg underfoot. To the south, we admire the striking Gamidaurspitz. At Basürla, we turn off and reach the Garmil after another short ascent, which rewards us with a magnificent panoramic view.
For the way back, we have various combination options:
- Continue to the Fürggli, where we then turn towards Furt. On the zigzag path, it goes down to Vollenplangg and Fälli, which both belong to Alp Mugg. During the last ascent, we enjoy the magnificent view over the St. Gallen Rhine Valley again, before we reach the Bildstöckli of the holy Brother Klaus. After a few minutes, we arrive at Furt, the endpoint of the hike.
- Return the same way
- Combinations with the summit quartet or the 5-lake hike
