Beschreibung

The trail climbs right from the end of the Upper Murg Lake. On older maps, the old hiking trail is still partly marked, which branches off in an easterly direction, but the new path leads in a southerly direction to the Widersteiner-Furggel. About halfway up this ascent, the path branches off at a large stone with signposts on the left, towards Chamm/Erdisgulmen/Maschgenkamm. The ascent now leads up on a partly pathless but well-marked route, always with a view back to the Murg Lakes and the Murg Valley. Slightly higher than 2200 m.a.s.l.M. follows a first transition, a narrow path then leads for about 200 meters along a steep wall. After a second transition, the area opens up to the slightly lower Chamm plateau, with the larger and smaller Chamm lakes. The path now leads over this plateau, the view on this varied piece extends to the Säntis, which looks out behind the Churfirsten. Shortly after the junction at Abendweid, the most challenging section of today's stage begins: the steep and exposed ascent up to the Erdisgulmen at 2286 m.a.s.l.M. and the subsequent short stretch of ridge path. After this somewhat more difficult part for people with a fear of heights, you will be rewarded with new views: the view follows the ridge on the right side from the lean terrain over Wissmeilen to the striking Spitzmeilen. From Hoch Camatsch the path leads down to the Sächserseeli and then comfortably as a panoramic path to the Zigerfurgglen crossing. At this point, where various hiking trails come together, you have almost reached the destination, the Maschgenkamm mountain station of the Flumserberg cable cars with the large panoramic restaurant. With the gondola lift it now goes comfortably down to Flumserberg Tannenbodenalp (gondola lift in operation until 17.00 clock).

During the Heidiland Hiking Tour you will spend the night in one of the hotels on the Flumserberg.
