Details

Beschreibung

Striking and always visible, the mountain peaks of the "Breitengrad" rise above the extensive grassy slopes of the Leisalp. This impressive mountain range shapes the eastern slope of the Valsertal not only with its well-known peaks of Piz Aul and Faltschohorn, but the prominent hump of the Satteltichopf is particularly often clearly visible. Passing the Stafel of the Leisalp, the mighty avalanche protection dams can be viewed up close, as well as further up the enormous excavation that once supplied the material for the dams. The spectacular ascent through the steep slope below the Satteltilücke forms another highlight before finally enjoying the fantastic view of the village deep down in the valley.

Geheimtipp

Descent from Leisalp via the beautiful Ave Maria path and directly to the Hängelahütte to enjoy a fine afternoon snack in the middle of the Valser mountain world.

Sicherheitshinweis

Requirements: Technically easy route (T4) for good alpine hikers, which requires caution at the summit in wet, cold, snowy, or foggy conditions.

On this hike, you must expect mother cows.

Wegbeschreibung

From Gadastatt (1800 m, top station of the gondola, mountain restaurant) follow the signpost for 30 minutes on a gently ascending mountain path to Stafelti (1933 m) and from there another 30 minutes on the alp road towards Leisalp (2051 m).

Continue along the road for 1 hour 15 minutes past two large avalanche protection dams and cross the third (2358 m). On the left side of the large excavation (2465 m) begins the clearly visible path, which leads through the very steep slope in 1 hour up to the Satteltilücke (2762 m) with a view of the Lugnez. The very short summit ascent (15 minutes) finally leads through pathless, scree terrain and can be mastered without problems with a little surefootedness.
