A wonderful snowshoe tour from the small mountain village of Tenna in the quiet Safiental valley. At the top, the reward for the 600-metre ascent is a phenomenal view - typical of the entire ridge tour in the Safiental.

Beschreibung

The start is in Tenna Mitte, around 50 meters from the Postbus terminus and the village store. Alternatively, you can also set off from the church.

The terrain is not exactly flat and yet very suitable for snowshoe tours. You can make perfect tracks on the sunny and snow-covered mountain slopes. From the Tenner Alp we are definitely above the tree line and the area becomes more alpine. Shortly before the steep summit slope, you come to the Stelliseen lakes, which are only recognizable in winter by a deep crater hole. In tricky conditions, it is advisable to turn back here. The summit area, which is a good 30 degrees steep, has to be hard earned. But, how could it be otherwise: it's worth it!!! The panorama extends from the Oberalp region, through the whole of the Surselva, across the Chur Rhine Valley to the Prättigau.

You can return via the same route.

Geheimtipp

If conditions are safe, you can also descend from the Stelli in the direction of Tenner Chrüz and the Allmeinihütta. If you still have energy left, you can also take the Tenner Chrüz with you.

Anfahrt

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

Take the train to Versam-Safien train station. Then take the post bus via Versam village to Tenna, post office. Mostly with a change at the Tenna junction.

Anreise Information

Arrival from Chur: On the A13 towards Thusis, exit Bonaduz. From Bonaduz to Versam and before the village of Versam turn off into the Safien Valley. After the long Acla Tunnel, the fork leads to Tenna.

Few parking spaces at the church. Further parking spaces approx. 100 m further on at the depot.

With the Reformation around 1524, the church was converted into a sober sermon hall. The whitewashed frescoes from the late Middle Ages have been uncovered again today and are much admired.
