Anyone today searching the Walser settlements scattered across the central Alpine ridge on the map inevitably concludes that the Walser always chose the most beautiful locations for their new settlements. Unlike today, the bike was not yet part of the Walser's inventory back then.

Beschreibung
It is doubtful that the Walser had time back then to enjoy these magnificent places – but at least the new land development offered the settlers a chance to break free from feudal serfdom. The Walser of Obersaxen today are not only free but can also enjoy the sunny terrace settled by their ancestors high above the Surselva. For example, by mountain biking on a route to Vorderalp that is very well suited even for beginners. Up here there is complete peace, apart from the cowbells that create the soundscape in the alpine summer. And naturally, the quiet rustle of the studded tires on the many paved sections.
