Beschreibung
Africa, Europe, Asia? Ages ago it didn't matter: There was only one supercontinent, Pangaea. But forces deep within the earth pulled on the supercontinent. Like a dough pancake, it was slowly stretched apart. The earth's crust became thinner and sank below sea level; water flowed in and a shallow sea was formed.
You can still discover traces of all these processes from the past 250 million years today.
The route starts at the Julier Hospice La Veduta (2237 m). From there, it leads through the Val d'Agnel via the Fuorcla digl Leget (2711 m) and the Val Natons to Bivio (1769 m). You start on the former continental shelf of Africa and arrive on the former deep-sea floor of the Tethys. So you follow the geological history step by step.
