The locals know this destination - precisely because it leads over the partially serviced Alp Glivers. It is a quiet ski tour in an area where the peaks are otherwise very alpine to climb. However, the Cuolmet, a kind of hill in German, is much easier to climb - and no less beautiful.

Beschreibung

After a few meters of skiing through the vacation settlement of Plaun la Crusch, the skis are strapped on. Follow the summer road and later the hiking trail to Alp Crap Ner Sut. You might find a cozy resting place in front of the hut. After 650 meters in altitude, you probably deserve it! Along the edge of the forest and bush and under small rock faces, we follow the tracks higher and higher up the mountain. In the Schigels area, the increasingly steep slopes demand more and more attention and orientation skills. Good visibility is a must here.

Around 150 meters before the summit, the terrain becomes a little flatter again before the very steep summit slope follows at the end. This has a gradient of over 40 degrees in places.

The entire tour requires experience in assessing the risk of avalanches, the weather and tour planning. If you catch a safe day and can ski well, you will experience a great ski tour in alpine terrain.

Stop off at the Alp Glivers. Please ask beforehand if anyone is up there.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

By train from Disentis or Ilanz to Sumvitg-Cumpadials (plus 230 metres in altitude from the train station to Sogn Benedetg).

Anreise Information

From Disentis or Ilanz to Sumvitg. At the end of the village (in the direction of Disentis), turn off to Sogn Benedetg (follow the signpost "Kirche Sogn Benedetg").

Chapel Disentis Sedrun

Chapel of Sogn Benedetg, Sumvitg

The chapel, which was designed by Peter Zumthor, is located a few hundred meters from the old site. The timber construction integrates elements of the local building style and is both traditional and very modern. The teardrop-shaped floor plan plays with natural geometric shapes, while inside, skylights and the abundance of wood lend the room a warm and light atmosphere.

Chapel Disentis Sedrun

Chapel ruin Sogn Benedetg, Sumvitg

The chapel ruin of Sogn Benedetg, with a horseshoe-shaped choir from the 9th century, is the oldest documented chapel of its kind. It was largely destroyed by a massive dust avalanche on February 10, 1984, and was restored again in 2013.
